The Leibniz Institute for Plasma Science and Technology (INP Greifswald) is Europe’s largest non-university research institute in the area of low-temperature plasmas, their basic principles, and their technical applications. With a third-party funds of approximately 13.9 million Euro, about 7.5 million Euro of third-party funds are competitively acquired third-party funds from the industry, national ministries, German Research Foundation (DFG) or EU, the INP employs about 180 people.
The INP carries out research and development from idea to protoptype.
One aspect of our work is application-oriented basic research. The other aspect is development of plasma-supported processes. These are enhanced by the customization of plasmas for specific usage conditions as well as feasibility studies, services and consultation.
