Plasma Liquid Effects
This junior research group will in particular address the following questions: Can detailed analysis of plasma-liquid interactions be used to identify individual redox-active species that are mainly responsible for specific biological effects?
The goal of the junior research group "Plasma-Liquid Effects" is to better understand the complexity of the plasma-induced chemical processes in aqueous fluids and to control them in a targeted manner. To this end, essential reactive components resulting from plasma-liquid interactions and their role for subsequent biological effects will be identified on the basis of liquid analysis in combination with plasma and gas phase diagnostics.
With the fundamental understanding of plasma-liquid interactions, the essential parameters required to generate the tailor-made "cocktail" of active plasma species for specific biological effects will be identified. This is the prerequisite for the development of a tailor-made "cocktail" of active plasma species for specific therapeutic requirements.
