We would like to thank the attendees of ISDEIV 2018 for the numerous participation and the great contributions on our 28th International Symposium on Discharges and Electrical Insulation in Vacuum (ISDEIV 2018), which was successfully held at Greifswald, Germany, September 23-28, 2018.

We are looking forward to the 29th International Symposium on Discharges and Electrical Insulation in Vacuum (ISDEIV 2020), which will be held from June 21-26, 2020 in Padova, Italy.

The 28th International Symposium on Discharges and Electrical Insulation in Vacuum (ISDEIV 2018), organized by the Leibniz Insitute for Plasma Science and Technology and the Institute of Physics of the University of Greifswald, was successfully held from September 23-28 in Greifswald, Germany.

We had about 200 participants from 23 different countries and in sum 188 contibutions, inlcuding invited talks, oral presentations and posters.

The workshop covered the following topics:

C5. Space related technologies
