Ways to Greifswald
Directions by Car
Coming from Hamburg, please follow the A1 toward Lübeck. At Interchange 24, take the A20 toward Rostock. Take Exit 25—Greifswald—and follow the B109 to Greifswald.
Coming from Berlin, please follow the A20 toward Lübeck/Stralsund until Exit 27—Gützkow. From there, take the L35 to our university and Hanseatic city.
If you’re coming from Stralsund, we recommend taking the B105.
The B111 leads directly from the island of Usedom to Greifswald. NOTE: Please note the bridge opening times for the Peene Bridge between Usedom and Wolgast.
Traveling by Train
From Berlin, Hamburg, or other major German cities, regional and ICE trains run regularly to Greifswald. To help you find your train connection quickly, we’ve provided direct access to the Deutsche Bahn booking portal here. The Usedomer Bäderbahn (UBB) runs several times a day on the Swinemünde–Stralsund route, stopping in Greifswald and other locations. You can find the current schedule here. If you’re traveling by train from Rügen, we recommend taking the train all the way to Stralsund. There, you can transfer to the connecting train toward Berlin or to the UBB toward Usedom to reach Greifswald.
Traveling by Bus
The central bus station (ZOB) in Greifswald is located right next to Greifswald’s main train station. Various long-distance bus lines stop there several times a day. It takes about 30 minutes to walk from the ZOB to our location (2.5 km). You can also take city bus line 2 (public transit) to the St. Georgsfeld stop; from there, it’s just a 5-minute walk to Felix-Hausdorff-Straße 2.
Traveling by Plane
The nearest international airports are located in
Rostock (approx. 90 km away),
Berlin (approx. 210 km), and
Hamburg (260 km).

Directions
- From Berlin, Pasewalk, Neubrandenburg, and Hamburg, Lübeck, Grimmen, the Island of Rügen, Stralsund via the Baltic Sea highway A 20, exit Gützkow, then continue via the interstates B 111 and B 109
- Coming from Greifswald, Stralsund or Anklam via the interstate 109
- Coming from Wolgast or the Island of Usedom via the interstates 111 and 109
- With the Bäderbahn (UBB Railway) of Usedom from Greifswald via Züssow or from the island of Usedom. A beautiful old avenue leads you directly from the railway station to Karlsburg
The Klinikum Karlsburg is located directly in the city center of Karlsburg. Follow the signs "Klinikum Karlsburg," and you will arrive directly at the gated premises of the clinic. Parking is available on the clinic campus. From the main car park, a beautiful avenue of linden trees leads to the magnificent castle portal. Follow the path to the right, and you will find the central registration desk. You will be welcomed at the reception desk, where you will be informed about everything else.
