Information in accordance with the Whistleblower Protection Act
The Leibniz Institute for Plasma Science and Technology (INP) has set up an internal reporting channel in accordance with the Whistleblower Protection Act (HinSchG). This channel is used to report legal violations within our institute securely and confidentially.
Who can report information?
Information can be submitted in particular by:
- current and former employees of the INP,
- applicants,
- interns,
- freelancers,
- clients, cooperation partners, service providers, contractors and their employees.
What can be reported?
Reports can be made about actual or potential violations of laws and other regulations that fall within the scope of the Whistleblower Protection Act.

How are whistleblowers protected?
Whistleblowers are protected by law from reprisals. Reports are handled in strict confidence. The identity of the whistleblower will only be disclosed if required by law.
Procedure after receipt of a report
- Confirmation of receipt within 7 days at the latest
- Review of the report by the internal reporting office
- Feedback on planned or taken follow-up measures within 3 months of confirmation of receipt of the report
External reporting offices
Regardless of the internal reporting channel, it is possible to contact a state external reporting office, for example the reporting office of the Federal Office of Justice.
