PlasSyn
Fundamental investigations into the use of physical plasma for the environmentally friendly synthesis of organic substances using the example of the synthesis of amino-p-quinones and phenazines
Duration from 1.1.2025 - 31.12.2027, funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) under the funding code (FKZ) HA 9629/3-1.
The aim is to define parameters for the plasma-mediated synthesis of organic compounds without the addition of enzymatic or chemical catalysts, such as phenol oxidases or platinum, at room temperature and avoiding organic solvents. The 'green chemistry' mediated by plasma synthesis is examined in detail using the example of amino-p-quinones and phenazines. P-dihydroxylated aromatic compounds and amino compounds are used as starting substances or reaction partners. The reactions of the individual substances as well as the reactions in combination are considered. The product formation of the individual reactions is examined as a function of various parameters in order to elucidate the responsible mechanisms. By optimizing these parameters, the aim is to achieve the highest possible product yield. The entirety of the analysis data provides a comprehensive overview of the plasma-mediated reactions.
